Our Concept: Who you are is deeply shaped by where you have been, where you live now, where your family comes from, and where you dream of going. Below, describe your 4 foundational places.
Place 1 • Personal
The Personal Place
A location tied to your family, childhood memories, or personal roots (e.g. family cottage, camp, grandparents' house, hometown).
Mr. Waugh's Model: Family cottage on the ocean in Wallace, NS. Wedding held on the front porch 25 years ago; family returns every summer.
Place 2 • Community
The Community Place
A local Dartmouth / Halifax / Mi'kma'ki landmark or public space that connects you to our community (e.g. the bridges, ferry, Sullivan's Pond, local arena).
Mr. Waugh's Model: The two Dartmouth bridges (Macdonald & MacKay) — the beating heart connecting 100,000 commuters daily.
Place 3 • Global
The Global Place
A place across the world connected to your family heritage, cultural roots, international ties, or travel (e.g. ancestral country, international food/culture).
Mr. Waugh's Model: Gwangju, South Korea — wife's family home and birthplace of their first daughter in 2003 (famous for its Kimchi Festival).
Place 4 • Aspirational
The Aspirational Place
One place on Earth you have always dreamed of visiting, exploring, or living in (e.g. a dream country, island, historic city, or nature preserve).
Mr. Waugh's Model: Mauritius (Indian Ocean) — a tropical blend of African, Indian, French, and Chinese cultures.
